As you already know, Mayor Eric Garcetti has placed a public order under the City of Los Angeles
Emergency Authority. Effective immediately, the "Safer at Home" emergency order mandates that all
non-essential activities outside of residences be limited. According to the city of LA, "individuals may
leave their residence to provide any services or goods or perform any work necessary to the operations,
maintenance, and manufacturing of essential infrastructure"(*1). Specifically, Paragraph 5, Section vii,
Part i of the order exempts landscapers/gardeners from the imposed restrictions. Additionally, item 13,
Part (h) of the Los Angeles County "Safer at Home Order For Control of Covid-19" defines tree
maintenance, landscapers, and gardeners as part of essential businesses that are exempt from the order
(footnotes *2 & *3). We will continue to provide maintenance to your property as scheduled unless the
city imposes new restrictions in the coming days. The weather these past few days has made it possible
for complete green landscapes to grow. Consequently, a lack of maintenance (weeding, edging, prunings,
trimmings, mowing) will inevitably lead to a collective spike in weeds, plant diseases/plagues/funguses,
pests that will damage the landscape and result in significantly higher repair costs.
With regards to the COVID-19 situation, I’d just like to let you know (as I’m letting all of my clients
know ) , that we are also taking precautionary measures for the well-being of our clients and employees.
Our employees understand that social distancing is the required practice to prevent contagion. With that
being said, we are adhering to the practice (and in accordance with the aforementioned orders) of staying
at least 6 feet away from our clients. Furthermore, our employees will be wiping down all knobs/locks
used to enter the property at the end of the service. Our employees will be spraying & wiping down such
surfaces with 1.84% Sodium Hypochlorite/Clorox (EPA Registration # 5813-21), an EPA approved
disenfectant against the SARS-cov-2(COVID-19)(*4). Additionally, our employees will be equipped with
hand sanitizer containing 62% Ethyl Alcohol or at least 60% alcohol as recommended by the Center of
Disease Control (*5). Property maintenance will continue on your corresponding scheduled day of the
week. Furthermore, only 1 person will be entering your property during the service and they will be
entering the property ONLY on your corresponding service day. In other words, only Pedro will be
accessing your property on your corresponding maintenance day.
Finally, should you need any extra work done at your property, please advise at least 1 day before your
corresponding day of service. It is important that we do not fall behind schedule for the well-being of all
our clients and their families. If you have received a notice from the city requesting trimming/removing a
tree on your property due to safety hazards, we can still provide this service since the work is in
compliance of the order provided by the County of Los Angeles Public Health notice (*1).
I will be closely monitoring any updates from the city/county as they are provided and will be taking
action accordingly. These are very strange times and clear communication is vital. Should you have any
questions or concerns, I will be immediately available through a phone call, text message, or email. I
sincerely hope all is well with you and your family. Please remember to be safe and practice the
recommended/mandated guidelines in order to protect our loved ones.
Sincerely & Respectfully,
Antonio Garcia (owner)
